Need a job? Head to New Zealand

New Zealand is the place to be at the moment. With the rugby world cup on Sunday and summer just around the corner the Kiwis have a lot to look forward to, but it’s not just Kiwis with a bright future.

New Zealand's Canterbury Employment and Skills Board (CESB) are on a huge drive for workers to rebuild Christchurch after the recent earthquakes in February and June 2011.

Simon Worthington, a board member at CESB, reported on the website Working in New Zealand: “There’s going to be bucket loads of work here in the next five to 10 years."

According to Worthington, there is going to be 20-30,000 workers needed to rebuild the city making it a prime opportunity of gap year students and post graduates wanting to boost their salaries and relocate to another country.

There will even be a number of temporary jobs and manual labour jobs for backpackers looking to help out and earn some money whilst their travelling.

CESB will be at the Opportunities Overseas Expo in London and Manchester in November in search of skilled workers, including engineers, construction workers and project managers to help repair the city's damaged infrastructure and Central Business District (CBD).

Spencer Hawkes, General Manager of the Opportunities Overseas Expo, said: "It takes a special sort of person to move to the other side of the world to rebuild a city like Christchurch. Christchurch employers are looking for brave explorers to carefully rebuild the city and then make it their home. Opportunities are there for the right people to be involved in a project that changes people's lives, for the better and forever."

With the offer of an excellent salary and the opportunity to make the permanent move to New Zealand it’s expected that these jobs will be extremely popular.
